Princess Beatrice Elizabeth Mary of York (born 8 August 1988) is the elder daughter of Prince Andrew, Duke of York, and Sarah, Duchess of York. As such she is fifth, and the first female, in the line of succession to the thrones of 16 independent states.
As a university student, Beatrice does not regularly carry out official royal duties: however, she does sometimes make appearances with the Royal Family at events, such as when she and her sister, Princess Eugenie, represented their father at a service of thanksgiving for her late aunt Diana, Princess of Wales, in 2007.

eBay bids for Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding hat have reached £17,800

With 61 bidders currently competing to win the outrageous Philip Treacy hat, the highest bid has already reached £17,800 this morning! Yes, seriously. We really have to wonder what on earth that person will do with such a monstrosity iconic piece of royal wedding memorabilia, and more importantly, who that person is. Alas, all the money made from this auction will be donated to the children’s charity Unicef, so with only five days left, let’s hope the total can exceed £20,000. Princess Beatrice’s royal wedding hat has already attracted bids on eBay of over £5,000.

The 22-year-old’s hat attracted a lot of attention when she wore the Philip Treacy design to her cousin Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton on April 29.

She has now donated the hat so it can be auctioned off to raise money for Unicef UK and Children in Crisis.

A bid of £5,000 was originally offered to kick off the bidding on May 12 but just a day later a bid of £5,111.25 was put in.

Two more bids have since been offered - one for £5,200 and another for £5,300.

It’s rumoured that Dragon’s Den star Duncan Bannatyne kicked off the bidding with the original offer of £5,000.

Princess Beatrice’s Crazy Hat to Be Sold for Charity

Princess Beatrice caused an online uproar when she showed up to last month’s Royal Wedding wearing a hat so unique that it inspired an Internet meme. And now that odd, tentacled hat (or fascinator as its known) can be yours.

Beatrice has smartly recognized the opportunity presented by her unexpectedly popular headwear. Her mother, Duchess Sarah Ferguson, told Oprah Winfrey on her show Wednesday that Bea is putting the hat up for sale on eBay. The proceeds will be donated to the Children in Crisis arm of UNICEF.

The hat is sure to fetch a hefty sum. The starting price is still unknown, but original designs by its maker, Philip Treacy, sell from $650 to $3000 on herrods.com. And with this particular hat’s notoriety, we’re sure UNICEF can expect a big donation in its near future.
